Using deoxycholic acid, we can now eliminate stubborn fat underneath the chin with Kybella, a nonsurgical neck liposuction injection at Hsu Plastic Surgery. As an alternative to invasive, expensive liposuction, our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Charles Hsu, now offers Kybella, a unique nonsurgical injection that is Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved to breakdown and destroy the fat cells under the chin. Even better is that once the fat cells are destroyed, the cells will never hold or store fat again. After a personal, private consultation in our Beverly Hills, CA office with Dr. Hsu, you could be on your way to saying good-bye to your double chin, and hello to a slimmer facial profile and neck line. Call today to get started.

"Went in today for a microneedling session with Mimi. She was absolutely fantastic! She was very thorough and explained the procedure well and answered all of my questions. She was easy to talk to and was very professional. The receptionist was also very welcoming and I didn't have to wait at all. The office is very clean, quiet and private. The only thing is I wish I knew about the parking situation. It gets pricey if you park in the lot, there's meter parking along Doheny."- S.T. / Yelp / Jul 11, 2017

After a consultation with our plastic surgeon, you may be considered a great candidate for Kybella injections if you:
- Have no infection in the treatment area
- Are over the age of 18
- Have moderate to severe fat beneath the chin and neck ("double chin")
- Are not pregnant or breast feeding
- Do not have medical conditions prohibiting the treatment (trouble swallowing, blood clotting disorders, allergies)
- Have no desire to have a surgical treatment, such as neck liposuction to recontour your facial profile (or surgery is not an option)
- Want long-term, natural looking results
What to Expect
Depending on the severity of your skin's condition, you may have a few or several injections made into the concerning fat under your chin. We apply a numbing cream before the injections to minimize any discomfort. Your appointment in our office usually lasts between 15 – 20 minutes. Kybella patients will need to return 2 – 6 times for treatments spread out a month apart respectively. Again, this is dependent on the size of your treatment area.
For 2 – 3 days, you may experience some swelling, bruising, slight numbness or pain, hardness, or redness of the treatment area. However there is no down time involved with Kybella, and you can go about your day as normal. If you have side effects that last longer than 2 – 3 days, please contact our office immediately. You should see your chin start to look slimmer after the second or third Kybella treatment.
